Our technical and conversion methods are based on three simple, but fundamental rules:
First: Keep the vehicle as close to the factory original as possible. Our goal is to retain as many of production items, assemblies and/or components, such as the steering element, front & rear axles, shock absorbers, and braking system, which we possibly can.
Second: Use original Mercedes-Benz spare parts for modifications that are required in the conversion. From the smallest of clamps, sealing rings, bearings, screws, etc., our priority is to utilize authentic Mercedes-Benz spare and replacement parts.
Halter oder Erhöhungen werden im Tausch gegen die Serienteile oder zusätzlich verbaut.
Third: Use IGLHAUT’s custom engineered/modified or patented parts and/or component systems, such as: the front-axle transfer case, brackets and leaf spring assembly, only when absolutely necessary. When IGLHAUT special parts are used, the core exchange value of the owner’s original part is offset against the cost of the conversion.
 | | know-how-1 | Our vehicles and auxiliary components are tested extensively in order to ensure the quality of our work and the proper and durable function of our all-wheel drive conversion.
Our program of testing starts locally on an extreme cross-country driving course, near Marktbreit, that puts the vehicle thru some of the toughest off-road situations and obstacles. Next the overall endurance
of the vehicle and its special components must successfully negotiate the Mercedes-Benz “bad road” course in Stuttgard-Untertürkheim. Finally, on to Sweden to insure that our vehicles can overcome the additional hardships of winter. Furthermore, safety-relevant components undergo additional separate testing.
 | | know-how-2 | When designing the drive components, the electronic/electrical systems and the accessories, we put great emphasis on working with only experienced and reputable suppliers of the automotive industry. This is the only way to ensure the constant high quality of the parts we use. Modern manufacturing techniques and production methods are prerequisites that ensure functionality and a long-life cycle; for example, sheet metal parts of the highest precision are produced through laser cutting and robotic welding. Through our modern logistics and warehousing system, we always have more than 5,000 parts in stock.
 | | know-how-3 | At our conversion facilities, in Marktbreit and South Africa, unique and individualized vehicles are produced using methods very similar to the original production factory. Our employees, who are highly motivated and trained, produce exclusive all-wheel drive vehicles of the highest quality.
It is very important to us to continue the training of our current generation of employees as well as to further the education of our permanent staff. This results in a theirselves durable base of “Know-How” which ensures that IGLHAUT will maintain, perhaps even increase, its lead in cutting-edge all-wheel drive technology. Production and operational procedures are constantly reviewed to secure the quality of our work and to shorten the turn-around/delivery time of the vehicles.
